The 2007 Bloggies: Vote for Us! (Please!)

Sometimes very exciting stuff happens when you don’t check your email for a couple of days. Like…
Congratulations! One or more of your sites is a finalist in the 2007 Weblog Awards, also known as the Bloggies. You can check out the list of finalists and submit your own ballot at 2007.bloggies.com .
That’s US! LesbianFamily.org is a finalist for Best GLBT Blog in the 2007 Bloggies!
The competition is fierce! We’re up against these other 4 fine blogs:
- Scott-O-Rama - “Where to go when you’re done surfing porn”
- Perez Hilton - Yeah, we’re up against Perez Hilton. But wouldn’t you rather read about sleeplessness and hormones and adoption paperwork than proof of celebrity idiocy? No?
- Daily Dose of Queer - Kind of the opposite of Perez Hilton, really. Or like Mombian but including more for men and less for kids/moms. And of course, without Dana’s warm tone. But I think I am adding it to my RSS reader.
- Queerty - Half-way between DDQ and Perez?
- LesbianFamily.org - Lil’ Ol’ US??? A group of lesbians coming to being parents through a number of different paths, at various points along that journey, linking to as many other blogs about that journey as we can find. Cuz’ sometimes you just want to read about other people going through what you’re going through.
Anyway, a few of those blogs are MUCH, MUCH, MUCH bigger than we are — maybe all of them? So please go vote for us. We’re going to need ALL your votes to have a shot. (Our category is about 2/3 down the screen, keep scrolling!)

Thanks for the kind words, Liza, and of course best of luck in the awards. I think it’s a wonderful sign that an LGBT-family blog has made it into the ranks of nominees against broader-based competition.

Roni forgot to add the intrusive home study by a (hopefully sympathetic) counselor and, of course, the mandatory fees and such. As soon as those items are completed, we’ll be happy to start processing your request. You should hear back sometime in the next 6 to 36 months. :)

Hope you’ll also consider voting for me for the first annual Lesbian Lifestyle Blog of the Year at http://lesbianlifestyle.blogspot.com - there are also four other very fine Lesbian finalists. I think, however, I’m the only middle-aged, single parent of three adopted teens in the bunch. And, thankfully, the voting was nothing like a home study!
