Even though we ‘aint got money…

Recently, it’s been hard for me to concentrate about anything except money, and finances, and our future. So instead of writing about something “new,” I’m going to let you in on some of the things that have been keeping me up at night. Now, I’m not a stranger to being kept up at night because […]

P*nis down

In the past week, my son Roo has made it through exactly two nights without waking up soaking wet and howling.
We use cloth diapers, so we switched to the thicker night covers. Then night covers with doublers. Then those brown disposables from Whole Paycheck. Then the good old-fashioned ultra-bleached, Bert-and-Ernie-on-the-front Pampers.
Leaks, leaks, leaks. One night we […]

A few news stories for your reading pleasure (or perhaps displeasure)

I’ve decided to add a news ticker to my life, using keywords like “lesbian” and “parenting”. This week, I received 85 notices that Jen*ifer Anist*n and C*urtney C*x were going to kiss onscreen. How exciting! *rolls eyes*
Yet I did come across some interesting news links and offer them up for you this weekend in addition […]

Weekend Reading: Baby Lust

Sometimes I feel guilty expressing my strong desire for another child. I read so many blogs of people trying for their first baby and think of my own precocious cuddler and I lose my breath at my presumption. How dare I try for another piece of snuggly perfection, don’t I have enough? […]

Just what I need…

Another way to procrastinate.
I went through and did a bunch of housekeeping in the links department.  Added some new ones, removed links to people whose sites no longer exist (is there anything more irritating than thinking you’re going to read a nice lesbian baby story and landing on a page full of flashing ads for […]

Building Castles in the Sky

I thought I’d take a moment and talk about something a little different today. Usually, when I write about families, or TTC, I’m writing not only about our trials on the journey, but our hopes of raising a little one, and experiencing all that comes along with that.  But right now, I’d like to take […]

Taxing Thoughts

On Tuesday, the office manager at my new job gave me a thick folder of forms to fill out.
License plate #? Crap, I can’t remember that. I had to get new plates when someone stole one of my plates, and I still haven’t learned the new number yet.
Code of ethics? Yes, I promise not to […]

Yet Another Twist in the Two Uteri Saga

I feel like I’m a woefully late guest to the two uteri family conversation, but that topic is at times, so hard for me to wrap my head around that I needed a little extra time to put my thoughts together. They still may not come out in the coherent, easy reading fashion that I’m […]

What Will Boys Be?

In all my fantasies of having a child, I always imagined having a girl. A feisty, spunky, worm-loving, mud-puddle-hopping, pink-disdaining, peace-loving, punk-rock kind of girl, but still, a girl. As Galloping Cats noted in a comment oh so many moons ago… “i think it’s easier to work on bending gender stereotypes for girls than for […]
